Engagement photos with Jonathan Ong

We got our engagement photographs back over the weekend, two weeks earlier than expected, and they were well worth the money we spent on them.

We were a little nervous when we had our session in early July; after all, we are not natural theatrical people who can strike up a pose when the moment calls for it. The boy points out that my whole demeanour changes when I notice a camera trained on me, and I just freeze up. But I was adamant I wanted some photos of us in London so that we could show them at our wedding in Singapore. After all, this is where we live. I also wanted photos of us when we would be relaxed and just free to be ourselves, instead of being under a fair amount of stress and having to deal with multitudes of people.

The London 2012 Games – a personal commentary

I know others have written about this, and more eloquently too, but I just wanted to capture my thoughts on what it’s felt like to have been in the great city of London throughout the Olympics and Paralympics. I’m one of those who’s always wanted to be here (job situation aside). The mere thought of leaving the city because of the expected influx of tourists and resultant chaos never even crossed my mind. I mean, seriously? Leave London and voluntarily miss out on being a part of the greatest Olympic Games ever? Are you loco?

Up until June, I didn’t expect to be watching any events live.

Photos of recent days

I started using Instagram the day they rolled it out for the Android, but have found that I prefer the combination of filters, effects and frames offered by Pixlr-o-Matic (which, incidentally, allows you to alter photos online, and not just on your phone, which makes it even better than Instagram in my book).

I love how the colours are displayed in these photos, all of which were taken over the last few days.

I would have uploaded larger photos, but I don't know how to do so. Blogger's small, medium and large settings all result in the same size thumbnail! If you'd like to take a closer look, just click on the photo.

Random snaps at Tower Bridge:

I like this photo because of the little fountains, and the seeming vastness of the pavement.

Strange caricature of Tony Blair along with assorted headlines and photos outside of the Marks & Spencer's Simply Food store at Tower Bridge. As I saw the dreadlocked owner of this thingawhummy shopping inside the store, I don't think he was protesting against the store.
