For some reason, Singapore seems to be inundated with millions of great events these few months.

• For Jazz lovers, there was Diane Reeves in January, Norah Jones in February, Bebel Gilberto in March, Diana Krall in April and Laura Fygi and Patti Austin's tribute to Ella Fitzgerald in May.
• For musical and dance spectacular fans, there was Lady Salsa in February, The Sound of Music, Estampas Portenas Tango Fire and Lord of the Dance and Lea Salonga in concert - all in April as well as Swan Lake by the Royal Ballet (UK) and Ultima Vez's Puur in June. There's also Break! for hip hop enthusiasts.
  
• For pop fans, Blondie, Simple Plan and Avril Lavigne played on our shores recently.
  

Thanks to the kind folks at the National Arts Council, today was Red Carpet Day for Arts Fest Club members, and I got 15% off all ticket purchases for the upcoming Singapore Arts Festival shows. So, I took advantage of that and will be seeing Bang on a Can All-Stars with friends, and catching Swan Lake and The Busker's Opera alone. Also, as tickets to Lea Salonga are selling out at an extremely fast rate, I'll be going to see that by myself as well.

So much for saving money.
