Me: What did the Spanish give to the world?
Friend: (long pause) Catholicism?
Me: That's Jesus, lah!
Friend: But they helped to spread it! And force it on to other people!
Me: What? The Inquisition?
Friend: Yes!
Me: I don't think that counts. (long pause) They gave the world Christopher Columbus... so, in a way, they gave the world America!
Friend: I think that's even worse. That's definitely not something to be proud of.
